About

We’re an independent landscaping company founded by brothers David and Steven Ray. Based in Keswick and working across Cumbria, we design, build and maintain outdoor spaces for residential and commercial. Our focus is on quality over quantity, with a commitment to craftsmanship, care and consistency in every project.

DSR was founded on the belief that well-designed outdoor spaces should be both beautiful and built to last. We don’t follow landscaping trends or chase volume. Instead, we concentrate on creating gardens and landscapes that are thoughtfully designed, expertly built and tailored to how people live and use their space.

We’re not limited to a single style. Our portfolio includes everything from contemporary garden design and bespoke stonework to traditional planting schemes and large-scale rural landscaping. What connects our work is a shared approach. We focus on careful planning, solid construction and attention to detail at every stage. Whether we’re leading a full landscape design and build or providing long-term garden maintenance, we apply the same high standards throughout.

We believe that great gardens grow from trust. Trust in materials, in the process, and in the team delivering the work. That’s why we stay hands-on, keep communication clear and work with a skilled, reliable team of landscapers, stonemasons, joiners and horticultural experts.

Our goal is simple. We deliver landscaping in Cumbria that stands the test of time. Well built, well maintained, and made to be enjoyed for years to come.

David leads the landscaping side of the business, overseeing design and construction. With a background in hard landscaping and site management, he ensures every project is built to the highest standard.

Steven runs the maintenance side, managing planting schemes, seasonal upkeep and garden care. With deep horticultural knowledge and a practical mindset, he ensures every garden is expertly maintained.
